Campus Arboretum - Grounds Maintenance Liaison
Posted Fall 2019

The University of Arizona Campus Arboretum is seeking a part-time student employee to assist with grounds maintenance of the living plant collections on the UA main campus. The student will be responsible for installing trees, maintaining inventory records, ordering and installing or repairing signs.

Essential qualifications:

*         Ability to do physically demanding work outdoors.

*         Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

*         Excellent communication and interpersonal skill.

*         Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.

*         Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

*         Available for approximately 5-15 hours/week.

Preferred qualifications:

*         Some botany or horticulture experience.

*         Experience collecting or working with plants.

*         Federal Work Study qualified.

*         Has or is willing to obtain UA cart driving privileges.

*         Available for two semesters or more.

Established in 2002, the arboretum's goal is to preserve and enhance the sustainable campus development. The Campus Arboretum mentors students in service-learning projects that engage undergraduates and provide practical plant sciences training, research opportunities, and community educational programs.
