Dear Plant Sciences and Sustainable Plant Systems students,
Please find below a description of ENTO436/536. This course satisfies free electives in the majors.
Best regards,
Prof. Quist

Agro-ecology (ENTO/PLS/ENVS/RNR 436/536): Agriculture is the most influential human manipulation of the earth. It's also what keeps us all alive. Agro-ecology is the application of ecological principles to the production of food. The underlying goals of the class are to assess the long-term sustainability of agricultural production systems. In this interdisciplinary course, we will study how agro-ecosystems vary across time and space and will examine the trade-offs associated with different cropping systems and management practices. We will also explore how economic, political and social factors influence food production and food security around the world.

Spring Semester Tues.- Thurs. 2:00 to 3:15pm
