<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Agro-ecology (ENTO/PLS/ENVS/RNR 436/536):</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"> Agriculture is the most influential human manipulation of the earth. It’s also what keeps
us all alive. </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size:12.0pt">Agro-ecology is the application of ecological principles to the production of food. The underlying goals of the class are to assess the long-term sustainability of agricultural production systems.
In this interdisciplinary course, we will study how agro-ecosystems vary across time and space and will examine the trade-offs associated with different cropping systems and management practices. We will also explore how economic, political and social factors
influence food production and food security around the world.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
