Dear Students,
There are still seats available in PLS 361 Plant Physiology Lab for Spring 2016. It is a terrific course that prepares students with skills and knowledge needed for careers in plant sciences research. Please see the course description below:

Name and number of the course: Principles of Plant Physiology lab (PLS 361)
Units: 1 (3 contact hours)
Meeting time: Wednesday between 2:00pm-5:00pm
Content: Students will perform a hypothesis-driven, inquiry-based research to learn the concepts of modern plant biology. They will follow a clearly laid out 'detective manual' (devised by the Australian National University) to characterize and determine if unknown mutants assigned to them are drought tolerant. Students will conduct their plant detectives projects in groups of three to five, and work intensively within those groups. The outcome is expected to teach students not only concepts of modern plant biology but also help gain skills in using various equipment and assays to collect data and in results interpretation.

Thank you
Ravi Palanivelu and Mohammad Pessarakli
