THE FRESNO STATE GLOBAL WINE, FOOD & AG. TOURISM PROGRAM
(Northern and Southern Italy, June 23 - Aug. 1, 2015)

Strong Academic Direction & Six Units Through Fresno State: The Chair of Agricultural Business at Fresno State, Annette Levi, Ph.D., leads students in the examination of global trends and the resulting business challenges and opportunities for Italy on a national, regional and company placement basis:

            • AGBS 185T: Global Wine, Food and Ag. Tourism Business— A Regional Perspective (3 units)

• AGBS 180: Undergraduate Research: Wine, Food and Ag Tourism Field Studies (3 units)

Team-based Projects: During the Blending & Branding Challenge small teams of students, guided by a professional enologist, create their own wine blend designed for the U.S. market. Students develop a branding and marketing plan to support their bottled and labeled product, which will then be judged in a panel competition!

Individualized Field Studies Placements: Students are able to have hands-on work experience with a winery, wine/food tourism or related organization (NOTE: no technical enology and viticulture placements).

Language/Culture Training & Industry visits: Students participate in organized language and culture classes as well as excursions to examine wine and agricultural production methods and economics in both Northern and Southern Italy.

Program Cost: $7,935

NOTE: APPLICATION DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 3, 2014.
