Guest Speaker:  Dr. Monica Schmidt
11/20 Thursday, 4:30 PM, Santa Cruz Ballroom Lvl 3

Plant Sciences professor, Monica Schmidt, will be leading a talk on GMOs this Thursday, November 20th. What do you think about GMOs? Are they good? Are they bad? Get the facts and learn about current biotech research going on in the BIO5 Institute and around the world. We will meet at the Santa Cruz Ballroom (level 3) of the Student Union Memorial Center at 4:30 pm and the talk will start at 4:45 pm.

Internship Panel

  *   11/18 Tuesday, 12:30-1:30PM
  *    Saguaro Hall 219

The CALS Ambassadors and the CALS Agri-Life Council are sponsoring an internship panel. The panel consist of CALS students who participated in summer internship programs. They will discuss their experience from the application process to final project presentations.
Pizza will be provided during the presentations.

Volunteer

  *   Kumataka Mines
  *   12/6 Saturday, 8AM- 1PM
  *   Deadline to RSVP is 12/1.

We will be assisting in the restoration of a wildlife area located in the Ironwood National Forest with SWES club. Lunch will be provided at the site and if you have gloves, please bring them. We are also looking for additional drivers. If you are willing to drive yourself and extra passengers, please let us know. Compensations for gas will be provided. Rillito Farmer's Market

  *   Every Sunday, 9AM to 1PM
  *   Rillito Park Race Track, 4502 N 1st Ave, Tucson, AZ

We will be selling a selection of houseplants and herbs from our Greenhouse along side CEASA at the Rillito Park Farmer's Market. We will get there around 9 AM and will have a tent open until 1 PM. Come hang out and enjoy the market!
