Due to an error at the Registrar's Office, this course was incorrectly
designated as an Honors only course. It has now been opened up for all
students to register. Please take another look at this interesting
laboratory course.

This lab course aims to provide students a comprehensive perspective on
plant development. To begin with, students will be introduced to light and
epifluorescent microscopy and its usage. Subsequently, students perform
laboratory exercises that reinforce the basic concepts of anatomy of roots,
stem, leaves, flowers, and fruits. The course will also involve exercises
that not only teach the structural aspects but also discuss the functions of
a plant cell, tissue, and organ. Field trips to the Tree Ring lab at the
University of Arizona and critical discussion of primary literature are also
part of the syllabus
