The deadline for students to apply for this is this Thursday, April 11th.
Looking for a 1-unit upper division unit this fall?
Do you love biology, learning, and helping the community?
Join BLINK (Biology Literacy, Instruction, and Networking for K-12+) and get
credit for sharing your love of biology with others!
What do students in BLINK do?
. Learn and conduct fun biology demonstrations for public events on
campus (and off)!
. Organize engaging events for fellow college students, such as lab
tours and workshops!
. Help high school students learn about what studying science at UA is
like!
. Coach elementary and middle school students in conducting science and
serve as science fair judges!
Students in BLINK will earn 1 unit of upper division credit for MCB 399,
spending a grand total of 45 hours during the semester participating in a
combination of the above activities and attending class meetings. Students
will be given grades of Superior, Pass, or Fail, based on their attendance
and participation.
To be eligible, you must:
. Be an UA sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in a biological
science (MCB, Biology, EEB, Biochemistry, Physiology, Microbiology,
Nutritional Sciences, etc.).
. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
. Have Mondays from 1:00pm to 1:50PM free on your Fall 2013 schedule
for BLINK class meetings.
. Preferably have public speaking skills and be involved in independent
research on campus.
