Subject: FoodCorps recruitment

Hello all,

My name is Kristin Lundgren and I am currently serving as a Foodcorps
service member in Whiteriver, AZ with Johns Hopkins Center for American
Indian Health. Foodcorps, a new program this year, aims to increase
childhood health by introducing better nutrition education and fresh food
into school systems with three pillars: nutrition and gardening knowledge,
engagement with gardening, and access to fresh, local food. For more
information about Foodcorps check out this link: http://foodcorps.org/.

I am writing to all of you because we are in the process of recruiting new
service members for next year and each of your programs represent the
diverse background they aim to have candidates be passionate about. Here's
what they're looking for in a candidate:
http://foodcorps.org/become-a-service-member/what-were-looking-for. Each
candidate will receive a biweekly stipend, an Americorps Segal Education
award upon completion of the service, SNAP benefits, student loan
forbearance, health insurance, partial childcare reimbursements, training,
mentorship, and the opportunity to dedicate your time to food justice!

Our positions here in Arizona are described here:
http://foodcorps.org/where-we-work/arizona. If you know of any students who
would be interested in this position or organizations that relate to our
values, please pass along this information. I've included a job description
for our positions in Whiteriver and there are additional positions in Tuba
City and Sells. We would love to hear from you with feedback or interest. In
fact, I will be traveling to Flagstaff next weekend, February 24-26, and
would be glad to meet with people to discuss the program and do recruitment.
If you have ideas for where I could do this, please let me know. I also have
postcards and fliers to distribute.

Thanks for your time!

Be well,

Kristin Lundgren and the Whiteriver Foodcorps Team
