Description

Position Summary

BASIS School, Inc. seeks knowledgeable and effective teachers to join us in
our mission to educate American students at an internationally competitive
level. With raised academic expectations which are implemented through an
accelerated curriculum that pushes students to reach their highest academic
potential, BASIS prepares middle and high school students to compete with
their peers in countries with highly performing educational systems, such as
Finland, Canada, Japan, and Korea.

BASIS operates six Arizona charter schools, BASIS Chandler (2011), BASIS
Flagstaff (2011), BASIS Oro Valley (2010), BASIS Peoria (2011), BASIS
Scottsdale (2003), and BASIS Tucson (1998), and has plans for continued
expansion in Phoenix, Tucson and Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

Education

.         A Bachelor's degree is required in the subject area you wish to
teach. If your degree is not in the subject area you wish to teach, you must
have completed 24 hours of credit in the subject area or completed the
relevant state subject test required for highly qualified status.

.         Coursework or experience in education is not required, nor is
certification.

.         Postgraduate work (Master's or Ph.D.) is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

.         The successful applicant will be an individual who:

.         Is open to new ideas and capable of challenging all levels of
students;

.         Possesses a high GPA in his/her major, excellent recommendations,
and experience working with children, although not necessarily in the
classroom;

.         Has an excellent grasp of the subject matter they would like to
teach;

.         Is intellectually passionate; and

.         Is able to communicate ideas, texts, and concepts with precision
and confidence.

 

Benefits and Salary

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on education and
experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included in the Employment
Agreement.
