ECOL 130- Natural History of the Southwest

Tuesday/Thursday 11-12:15- Spring 2012

Natural History of the Southwest, Ecol 130, is a is a non-majors course that
presents an overview of the natural world of the place we live. Many people
have been drawn to southern Arizona because it is a natural wonderland of
rare beauty and interest.   We introduce you to basic principles of ecology
and evolution illustrated with the plants and animals of our unique region.
Learn about deserts, mountains and sea and meet bobcats, saguaros, Gila
monsters and ringtails.   Natural History of the Southwest is a lecture
course which includes live animal demonstrations in class and local field
trips. 

Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Available to
qualified students for Pass/Fail Option.
