[Plsgs] Update on Director search

Hi All,

I appreciate your patience as the process for identifying our next Interim
Director for the School is finalized. Below is a summary of what has been
communicated to me. Also, I've attached a draft of some questions that the
current Executive Committee is composing for candidates.  The EC may ask
candidates to respond in writing to these questions, as well as during a
meeting with faculty. One idea that you may all consider is to work
together to develop some questions for the next director. There are several
avenues by which you could communicate these questions. One option that
might not be immediately obvious is to send them to Prof. Jeannie McClain (
mclain at arizona.edu). See below for additional rationale for notifying Dr.
McClain.

What I have learned:
1. Dr. Brown has withdrawn her name from consideration. There are two
remaining candidates from Dr. Burgess' original email.

2. Dr. McLain will ensure that graduate students have a voice in the
selection process. Students will be given the opportunity to meet with both
remaining candidates.

3. Anonymous feedback forms will be made available and these can be
deposited physically in a box (location to be specified).

I understand from personal communication with a few of you that you all
have been working to draft a letter intended for Dr. Burgess (?). Please
consider the factors above in regard to the letter you all may be
composing.
