Subject: [Directors of Graduate Studies] Graduate College Funding Opportunities

Dear Directors of Graduate Studies and Graduate Program Coordinators:

REMINDER: The Graduate College has the following graduate student funding opportunities for academic year 2023-24.

UPDATE: The Peter W. Likins Graduate Fellowship Award is now available for 2023-24!

  * The Graduate College will continue to offer the Graduate Access Fellowship (GAF) funds for 2023-24 to recruit outstanding domestic graduate students who have shown academic achievement despite facing social, economic, or educational obstacles. Information about applying for these funds may be found at https://grad.arizona.edu/funding/opportunities/graduate-access-fellowship. Newly admitted students may apply directly or the academic unit may nominate a new student. We will again need to limit the total number of awards to 4 per academic unit. Student applicants must notify and coordinate with the department's Director of Graduate Studies.

  * Two Richard A. Harvill Fellowships are available to recruit outstanding UArizona undergraduates who will be graduating in Spring 2023 and have plans to continue at UArizona in a doctoral track program for Fall 2023. The award consists of $12,000 plus full base graduate tuition. Refer to https://grad.arizona.edu/funding/opportunities/richard-harvill-graduate-fellowship for details.

  * The Peter W. Likins Graduate Fellowship award is open for academic departments to nominate a 1st or 2nd year doctoral or Master’s student at UArizona (one application per graduate program only). This award is to encourage students who have overcome adversity in their journey to academic excellence. Details available at: https://grad.arizona.edu/funding/opportunities/peter-w-likins-graduate-fellowship-award.

Please contact Donna Treloar, Director of Graduate Diversity Initiatives, at dtreloar at arizona.edu<mailto:dtreloar at arizona.edu> if you have any questions.
