We are excited to announce that registration is *now open* for this spring’s Inclusive STEM Teaching Project<https://www.inclusivestemteaching.org>, a six-week NSF-funded course and local learning community network of over 2,000 faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and staff around the nation dedicated to learning how to make our classrooms more inclusive spaces for all. You can visit www.inclusivestemteaching.org<http://www.inclusivestemteaching.org> for more details about the course content and what you can expect and register here on edX<https://www.edx.org/course/the-inclusive-stem-teaching-project> for the asynchronous course, which runs from March 23 to May 4.

As a local facilitating institution, we also hope you’ll consider applying to join our weekly local UA learning community on Mondays, March 21 - May 2 from 11-12 pm on Zoom, hosted by the Center for the Institution of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) and the Office of Instruction and Assessment (OIA). Our local learning community, which will be capped at 15 participants, will be facilitated by trained UA colleagues and offer a brave space to share what we are learning and reflect on our institutional and local contexts. Apply to join our virtual learning community<https://uarizona.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4N4UmdkDuO8yTBA?jfefe=new> by March 10th for full consideration.

You can also add on a 7 ½ week, 1-credit independent study (IA 699) if you would like to extend your learning even further and work one-on-one with one of our trained facilitators (standard tuition applies). The course will run from March 14th through finals week, May 12th. You can indicate your interest in this in the application form for the local learning community above. For independent study questions, please contact Dr. Erin Galyen at egalyen at arizona.edu<mailto:egalyen at arizona.edu> or Dr. Mascha Gemein at mngemein at arizona.edu<mailto:mngemein at arizona.edu>.

Please see the attachment for a more detailed breakdown of the ways you can engage in this important initiative on campus!

And remember: While the MOOC is open to all, spots for the local learning community are extremely limited, so please register by March 10th! The facilitation team will reach out to you by March 15th to confirm acceptance and share next steps.

We look forward to learning with you.

Sincerely,

Your local facilitator team:

Dr. Kristin Winet, CIRTL Program Administrator, Academic Affairs (kwinet at arizona.edu<mailto:kwinet at arizona.edu>)

Dr. Erin Galyen, Professor of Practice, OIA (egalyen at arizona.edu<mailto:egalyen at arizona.edu>)

Dr. Mascha Gemein, Associate Professor of Practice, OIA (mngemein at arizona.edu<mailto:mngemein at arizona.edu>)
