Subject: Please forward to postdocs and graduate students: DEADLINE EXTENDED for Bayer Mentorship Program to February 24th, 2022 - APPLY NOW!
The Bayer Corporation is running a Mentoring Program for scientists in their early stages, with a focus on graduate students and postdocs. In 2022, BIO5 is working with Bayer Marana, to extend the reach of this program to the University of Arizona.
The objective of the program is for mentees to develop a first-hand insight into the workings of life science enterprises with the goal to foster the career transition of early scientists from academia to industry. Accordingly, this program does not only target scientists in the life sciences but in any area of STEM expertise, including agriculture, medicine, pharmacy, health sciences, engineering, computer science, and data science.
Participants in the Bayer University Mentorship Program will be paired 1-on-1 with Bayer employees which, depending on mentee's interest, may be located at Bayer Marana or any Bayer location/facility. Mentees are being expected to commit about 5 hours per month for the duration of one year from April 2022 to April 2023 to participate in career development and networking sessions hosted by Bayer, and meetings with their Bayer mentors. For the time being, it is being envisioned that a large portion of the interactions will be virtual.
Online applications are still being accepted until Thursday February 24th at midnight through http://bit.ly/Bayer2020. Please review the attached flyer for additional detail.
