The Writing Skills Improvement Program (WSIP), the Think Tank, the Graduate and Professional Student Council, and the Graduate Center are pleased to announce the Spring 2020 ABD to PhD Dissertation Writing Workshop Series. The purpose of the series is to provide writing support for ABD students and discuss shared concerns about the dissertation process. Students can participate in person or online (in-person seats are reserved for dissertating students).

All sessions are held in the Graduate Center, located at 1600 E 1st Street. Topic: Literature Review 2.0: Synthesizing Information

  *   Description: In this workshop, we will discuss how to synthesize information gathered from secondary sources, including how and when to paraphrase and use direct quotations.

Topic: Sentence Fluency

  *   Description: In this workshop, we will focus on issues that interfere with sentence-level fluency, including grammar patterns, transitions, and sentence structure.

Topic: Writing In-depth Analysis to Support Your Research
