Subject: IPPS - Bruce Briggs Memorial Scholarship
On behalf of the International Plant Propagators' Society Western Region, I would like to inform you of a unique opportunity for horticulture students to attend our annual meeting with the help of the Bruce Briggs Memorial Scholarship. The International Plant Propagators' Society (IPPS) Western Region awards the Bruce Briggs Memorial Scholarship to deserving students in agriculture and horticulture educational programs.
This scholarship is given each year to college and/or university students who are studying plant propagation and demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing propagation as a career. The
scholarship pays for students to attend the annual International Plant Propagators' Society meeting held in the Western Region. Both the registration fee (includes most meals) and shared accommodations are covered by the scholarship. Travel costs are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient. The meeting will be held at the Four Points by Sheraton in Bellingham, Washington, June 23 to 27, 2020. Please note you will need valid proof of Citizenship and ID to cross the Canada/US border for scheduled tours. A passport, passport card or NEXUS card all serve as proof of both citizenship and identification.
The annual meeting gives the students the opportunity to hear presentations on various areas of plant propagation and network with industry professionals. A tour of nursery propagation facilities and affiliated businesses is an integral part of the scheduled activities. An added benefit of the award is a one-year student membership to IPPS. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible for a second scholarship.
The deadline to apply for the Bruce Briggs Memorial Scholarship is March 15th, 2020. More information about IPPS and an application form can be downloaded from the IPPS website at: http://www.ipps.org/ .
