For those interested in working in industry, this might be a good opportunity.

On Behalf of Dean Burgess:

I would like to call your attention to an experiential learning opportunity in partnership with Eller for potentially engaging your graduate students this fall. Please feel free to forward it to the appropriate department head or program director.

The Eller College of Management offers an Advanced Consulting Project class called BNAD 597B in the fall semester. BNAD 597B is a competitive elective for interested MBA & MS MIS students typically. This semester we would like to extend this opportunity to a larger group of graduate students.

Class Overview: Project teams of 3-6 graduate students work on business problems or research an area of interest for a corporate client. Students benefit by learning how to deal with real world ambiguity, opportunities to expand professional networks, actively engaging in a resume building project experience, and practicing both hard and soft skills. In addition to these benefits, we have found the clients and students gain a richer experience from cross functional teams. In fact, the Eller Business Consulting program is unique among business schools by actively combining students from separate graduate platforms for all of the projects.

This fall we will be working with the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Intel, Intuit, Hexagon Mining, and Microsoft. The class requires a commitment of 10hrs a week, in addition to weekly project and client meetings. Scoping of the projects will be negotiated over the summer by Eller and finalized by the student teams in the first two weeks of the fall semester.

Information Session: We will be offering an information session on March 21st from 3:30pm-4:30pm in Harvill Room 204. We will share information on the upcoming projects and the method to apply for particular projects. If your students cannot attend the March 21st info session or for any questions about the program, please have them contact Sandra Kenny, Executive Director of Eller Business Consulting, at skenny at email.arizona.edu<mailto:skenny at email.arizona.edu>.

Regards,
Paulo
