Start Smart Workshops for Students March 18 and 25
You want to have the best possible financial start after graduation. Learning how to establish, defend, and negotiate salary and benefits is fundamental to this when entering the workforce. Through a partnership between the University of Arizona Graduate Center and the local American Association of University Women (AAUW), we are announcing our Spring 2019 Start Smart series of in-person workshops designed to prepare you for your transition. The workshops are free to attend and all disciplines are welcomed. March 18: Researching Your Way to a Better Starting Salary

*         Time:  10:30 -11:30 am

*         Location: ENR2, Room S107

*         Description: You will be learning concepts about your value, benchmarking, and important data to prepare for entering negotiations. We highly recommend that you bring a resume, or CV, with an ideal job description or job posting.

*         Online Prep Session: Module A - Gender Pay Gap & Exercises (30 - 60 minutes)

March 25: Practice Makes Perfect - Negotiating a Better Starting Salary

*         Time: 10:30 - 12:00 pm

*         Location: ENR2, Room S107

*         Description: We will be practicing how to negotiate your salary and benefits and how to articulate your value through some role-playing scenarios. We will also be having a guest speaker.

*         Online Prep Session: Module B - Negotiation & Sample Videos (10 -15 minutes)

Series format
You can attend one or both of the workshops. To get the most out of each workshop, you are strongly encouraged to complete the online prep session material before you attend.
