On Behalf of the Cardon Academy for Teaching Excellence:
Dear graduate students,
Our College supports excellence in teaching and would like to foster professional development and support for our graduate teaching assistants.
To this end, the Cardon Academy for Teaching Excellence is excited to offer small 'learning communities' in which facilitated discussions will help graduate teaching assistants gain new skills, learn from peers and teaching mentors, and explore the ways in which teaching enhances our professional trajectories.
These discussions are optional and will last for one hour every two weeks. They are open to all graduate students.
If you are interested in participating in a learning community, please send a note to Betsy Arnold and Dennis Ray (arnold at ag.arizona.edu<mailto:arnold at ag.arizona.edu>, dtray at email.arizona.edu<mailto:dtray at email.arizona.edu>), your Cardon Academy members in SPLS. We will be happy to provide you with a poll to identify times for learning communities that work for you. Alternatively, if you are not interested, we'd value your thoughts -- please contact us as we work to make the learning communities accessible and appealing to our terrific students.
All the best,
Betsy and Dennis
