GRADUATE STUDENT OPPORTUNITY

The UA Water, Environmental, and Energy Solutions (WEES) Initiative is seeking a talented student for a Graduate Assistant Outreach (GAO) position starting in Fall 2018, with the preferred option that the student begins in May 2018 as a 30 hour per week student worker. The position is housed at the WRRC. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and writing skills, a strong interest in environmental sciences, and other experience relevant to the position. An ideal candidate would be able to start May 14, 2018.
Qualifications:

  *   Excellent Organizational and time management skills;
  *   Good writing and communication skills;
  *   Good computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel;
  *   Enrolled in a UA graduate program and maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.

Preferred:

  *   Experience with project management;
  *   Experience with databases, particularly Access;
  *   Experience with HTML 5 and web design;
  *   Experience with using Drupal or other content-management framework;
  *   Experience in event planning;
  *   Experience using Constant Contact;
  *   Experience summarizing scientific information;

Responsibilities:

  *   Assist in the planning and writing the WaterNET listserve emails and other outreach materials;

  *   Communicate with University staff and faculty about funding and other WEES opportunities;
  *   Assist in the planning, promoting, and executing a variety of events;
  *   Updating and maintaining WEES Funding Databases (Access);
  *   Maintain and update the WEES and Water Network websites;
  *   Assist with financial analysis and writing for end of year reporting;
  *   Perform other duties as assigned;
