students.
Free Professional Development Workshop
Graduate & Professional Students from Across Campus are Invited to Attend
Negotiation Strategy and Tactics *back by popular demand*
Did you know that the salary of your very first job after graduation
determines your salaries for the rest of your life? Learn the basics of how
to create a win-win situation and negotiate right from start to finish in
the job decision process. Clarifying your needs and wants, and those of the
other party are key. The negotiation skills you learn are valuable in that
they can be applied to any situation in your professional (and even
personal) life.
When: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 5:30-6:30 pm
Where: La Aldea Community Room
La Aldea is between the Tyndall Garage (north) and the Coronado Residence
Hall (south) on Tyndall (the address is 825 E. 5th St.). You may enter the

Series Presenter: Alaina G. Levine. President, Quantum Success Solutions
Alaina G. Levine is President of Quantum Success Solutions, a career
consulting enterprise with a focus on advancing the professional development
expertise of scientists and engineers. She has been advising emerging and
established scientists and engineers about their careers for over a decade,
and has personally consulted with hundreds of early- and mid-career
professionals. The author of over 100 articles pertaining to science,
science careers and business in such publications as Science, Nature,
Scientific American Online and New Scientist, Levine currently writes the
Careers Column for The Euroscientist (debuting Feb 2012) and the Profiles in
Versatility career column for the American Physical Society's national
publication, APS News. Previously, she directed a master's program in
science and business and taught entrepreneurship to science graduate
students at the University of Arizona. She has given over 400 workshops and
seminars around the country and in Europe. Levine holds degrees in
mathematics and anthropology from the University of Arizona, studied abroad
at the American University in Cairo as a DoD National Security Education
Program/Boren Fellow, and pursued grant-funded research in cosmology and
mathematics history. Recently, she was honored as a Robert Bosch Stiftung
Science Journalism Fellow and an Institutes for Journalism & Natural
