I am sharing this announcement in case undergraduate researchers in your group might be interested in presenting at the conference described below. I can share that students from my group have presented at this meeting in recent years, and they found it to be an exciting, high-quality conference with excellent opportunities for professional growth.

The 49th Annual West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference (WCBSURC) will take place on April 11, 2026, at Sonoma State University, located in the heart of California’s scenic wine country an hour’s drive north of San Francisco.  The WCBSURC was established by Santa Clara University in 1976 and is the oldest, intercollegiate undergraduate research conference of its kind in the nation.   To date, it has drawn participants from 212 institutions in 43 states plus Canada.


The purposes of the one day Conference are to: 1) provide a forum for undergraduate researchers to present original data they have generated in the fields of biology, biochemistry or biophysics; and 2) foster intercollegiate interactions among students and faculty who share a commitment to undergraduate research in the biological sciences.
