Hi Everyone,

As a department, we remain committed to the success of our junior and mid-career faculty. To support this commitment, we have established a new subcommittee as part of the Academic Personnel Policies (APPC; Promotion, Tenure and Continuing) Committee. The "Faculty Promotion Subcommittee" will serve as a resource for anyone moving through the promotion process. For faculty in all tracks (tenure, continuing, career) we will provide information about the promotion process, guidance for dossier preparation and, in conjunction with faculty mentors, review of the dossier before submission.

Committee members are Dr. Betsy Arnold, Dr. Ramin Yadegari, Dr. Marc Orbach (working with us as chair of the APPC), and me.

We have prepared guidelines (attached and in the shared committee guideline BOX) for the promotion process and will shortly reach out to our junior and mid-career colleagues (and any interested mentors) to invite everyone to a meeting where we can talk about the process and answer any questions. You are also welcome to reach out to any of us as you think about your program and your progress towards promotion.

Best regards. Karen
