[Plsfaculty] Associate Director positions: call for nominations and applications

Dear Faculty:  I would like to provide some clarification on my email of last night.

Dean Burges has not approved this search. He is aware that this is ongoing, but the appointment of the Associate Directors has not been approved by CALES or University Administration – due to the hiring freeze, no new positions are being approved at this time. This search is being conducted because the initial appointment of the Associate Directors, performed a year ago, did not conform to UA policies. The current SPLS Associate Directors have done an exemplary job in assisting me with the management of this Unit over the past year, and I sincerely hope that they will apply for these positions.

I must also inform you that the stipend stated in the position description has not yet been approved at the administrator level, and may not be approved until the hiring freeze is lifted.
