Hello All,

Faculty Summer Supplemental Compensation:

Academic Appointments end on May 19, 2024 and begin again on August 19, 2024.  If you plan on working during Summer 2024, please complete the attached form and return it to Lizeth by Friday April 12, 2024.   *   It will be the responsibility of the faculty member to complete their hourly time sheet, once it is active (instructions attached). Time Sheets are submitted EACH pay period, An email reminder will be sent to you a few days in advance. Failure to submit your bi-weekly timesheet by deadline, will result in a delay in pay!

This year is one of those rare years where there will be a gap between supp comp period and the start of the academic year. This means there will be a gap in pay, no pay for one week (08/12-08/18), the paycheck on August 23rd, 2024 will be for only one week of pay, please ensure you let your Grad Students know. It is also mentioned on their form and in the email I will send them.

Graduate Student Supplemental Compensation:

Attached you will find the summer compensation form for your graduate students. (Note: All GA’s are on an academic appointment and will end on 5/19/2024). Please use the form to discuss with your grad student their summer work plans and funding. Deadline for submitting the request forms attached is Friday April 26th, 2024.  An announcement will be sent to all graduate students directing them to coordinate their summer plans with you.

Reminder, in order to be eligible for summer compensation, one of the following must apply:

  *   Student must be pre-enrolled for 6+ units for Fall 2024 (this will be checked)

OR

  *   Student must be enrolled for 6+ for Summer 2024

Students who are graduating during the summer months must be enrolled during the summer in order to be paid by the faculty advisor.

The form attached need to have the following information completed:

  *   Student Information
  *   Short description of the work to be performed over the summer
  *   Weekly authorization of number of hours the student can work and the account number the student should be funded on
  *   Time supervisor name and PI signature

Pay Rates: unless otherwise negotiated, all students will follow the following pay scale- Assistant $28.50/hour, Associate $30.50/hour. If you wish to change this rate or would like to develop a graduate funding plan, please coordinate with Leslie Bonilla.
