This is a good suggestion, given our wishes to be understood not only for the courses we teach for our own degrees, but also for shared degrees.
Thank you Xiong and all – good work!

As Tanya indicated, this file is incomplete. It listed only courses homed in PLS or PLP. Some courses not homed in SPLS, such as MCB 181 and MIC 205A, are not included. I’d suggest everyone adding the course they teach if they are not already on the list.

Hi Judy,
I made a copy of the sheet in which I reformatted the organization a bit to make it easier to calculate/correct the totals for combined sections of a course or co-convened courses. I also added labels to the columns to help us know what information to provide and locked the top row so it's visible as we scroll down. You'll see the reformatted sheet on the bottom to the right of the original.
I dropped the file into our shared box folder<https://arizona.app.box.com/folder/253718351527?s=em43fd4i8hibeeafu5l8hkfzf9rxxpke> so we all work on the same file. (This is the folder where we've been placing faculty meeting notes/agendas). Hopefully working from a single file saves someone the trouble of collating all the sheets later. If you think this is useful, please share with the faculty. If you do, be sure to change the subject line to indicate Monday is April 8th (still think it's 2024 though! 🙂)
If the goal of this data evaluation is to assess whether we can increase SCH by raising course caps - perhaps a multiyear dataset would be helpful. For example, I teach classes that are not listed since I didn't teach them in 23-24. Perhaps caps for those classes will be addressed as part of a separate effort later? Additionally, enrollment in a given year varies quite a lot for the courses listed here - maybe the average over 5 years would be more informative.
Thanks for tackling all this... a big lift without the institutional knowledge Georgina and Dennis provided in past years.
Kind regards,
Tanya

Dear all,
Attached pls find the summary of the course cap survey you all helped to fill in several weeks ago.
Please review this list and note columns K, L, and M for your information.
Please consider if the cap/enrollment can be increased based on these data.
* Add your last name to Column N
* In column 0 – indicate if cap can be increased (or should be decreased).
* In column P - indicate the reason if no increase is possible (lab course-limited space or resources; TAships or graders needed; larger room needed; other, etc.)
Please return to me by Monday April 8th 5pm:
Thank you very much,
Judy
