Hello all,

I hope your week is off to a great start. Via this email, I’d like to introduce you to Elena Lopez, who is our science communicator and media relations specialist on our strategic communications team. Some of you may have already had the opportunity to work with Elena. For those who have not, she comes to us with a wealth of media experience, having worked for nearly every broadcast channel in the Tucson area. Most recently, she worked for Arizona Public Media, our local NPR/PBS affiliate. Elena is stepping into help me run media relations for our division, specifically to:


  *   promote faculty research publications and accomplishments via press releases
  *   identify opportunities for our faculty experts to join ongoing conversations in the news cycle
  *   Connect and help faculty build relationships with journalists locally, nationally, and internationally

We’re working to update our “experts available for comment” lists. This list will help us better respond to media when they reach out with expert requests and pitch our faculty to journalists, as well as gauge faculty interest in media relations trainings we will be hosting this summer and early this upcoming fall.

We need your help—can you share the below Qualtrics survey link with your faculty (teaching, research, and extension) and encourage them to complete it before April 8th?
