Hello Campus Partners,
We hope you are all having a wonderful start of the school year thus far! We are very excited to have all of our students back on campus and planning events and programming for the semester! To increase communication, we will be providing quarterly email updates for the many different Basic Needs initiatives and programs on our campus! Please take time to read through the updates below and reach out to us with any questions.
Thanks and see you all at the first coalition meeting of the semester

Basic Needs Campus Coalition
The University of Arizona Basic Needs Coalition is composed of faculty and staff working to decrease basic needs insecurity on our campus. The Coalition is in its fifth academic year and meets quarterly to discuss basic needs issues and advances in solutions across campus. We are always looking for more staff, faculty and community stakeholders to attend and learn more about basic needs work happening on campus. Please feel free to forward this email to others who you think might be interested in attending.
We are currently looking for volunteers who would like to serve on our subcommittee for Faculty Engagement. Chaired by Dr. Jasmine Linabary, this committee will be working to establish methods for integrating basic needs information and access into the classroom.
Please email Jasmine at jlinabary at arizona.edu<mailto:jlinabary at arizona.edu> if you are interested in learning more.
Additionally, If you have not already signed up for the next coalition meeting, please register using the link below!

Fostering Success Updates
Fostering Success serves University of Arizona undergraduate students who have experienced foster care, housing insecurity or homelessness, and those who participated in Youth on Their Own in high school. Support for each student is curated based on each individual's needs, interests, and goals. The program has more than 70 UA students currently enrolled and matched with a staff member for support with year-round opportunities to join. To join the program, students should schedule a time to meet with one of our full-time staff to get started in the program using this link: https://calendly.com/fs-enrollments/join<https://arizona.us21.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e2c327efee6918958409e6e11&id=1611aab021&e=34e61e287b>. The program staff are increasing efforts to expand each student's personal support network, connect students with community and skill building opportunities, and offer professional development opportunities to student participants. Fostering Success is continuing to request the support of the community to send hygiene and household items and school supplies to be given to students in the program who need them.

There are no eligibility checks or pre-registration required for students, faculty and staff to use the Campus Pantry. New Changes to the Pantry this semester:
* Users can only visit the pantry 2 times per week, and they will receive 6 points of food each visit (previously 3 times a week, for 4 points a visit)
* Pop-Up Pantry: We now have several take one-leave one boxes around campus for student use! Currently, boxes are located within many of the cultural centers. We will be expanding the number of boxes around campus this semester to other high traffic areas and academic buildings. These boxes will also be an additional donation drop-off site for non-perishables.
* Food Bag Orders: Students can now place personalized food bag orders for pick-up from the Campus Pantry on Thursdays from 10-5pm. Students will get to choose from a large assortment of non-perishable items. This food bag order will constitute as one of the students' 2 weekly visits.
* Campus Pantry North: The Campus Pantry is expanding to North Campus! We are working on the preparation of our second location on campus within the UA-Health Sciences Library. Until our new location is finished, we will be continuing food bag distributions every Thursday from 12:30-3pm in the Health Sciences Library Lobby. Students are able to either place a personalized food bag order, or pick-up a prepared food bag. This visit will also constitute as one of the students' 2 weekly visits.
* Links below are only open Friday-Tuesday at 11:50pm for orders.
