Good morning, I have been getting a lot of questions about the annual review process – it’s GREAT that faculty and staff are thinking of this so early in the process!

Annual reviews of faculty will once again this year be done through Faculty Portfolio (UA Vitae has been renamed). To initiate this process, I am requesting two things:


  *   Please forward this email to the support personnel in your unit who will be setting up the portfolio. The UA Faculty Portfolio team has a listserv for communication with all faculty affairs and support personnel. If your annual review support staff are NOT on this listserv, please ask them to contact me. I will forward their names to the Faculty Portfolio team to get added.
     *   The support personnel may ask how they know if they are on the listserv. If they received an email on October 10 assigning them to three Edge trainings, they ARE a member of the listserv. If they did not receive this email, please ask them to contact me.
     *   Yes, there are three trainings that will walk support personnel through the process of setting up the portfolios for faculty reporting. I was also assigned these trainings and completed them this weekend – they are VERY good and extremely useful, walking you very carefully through the setup of the portfolios for the unit. All support personnel (new and experienced) will have to complete these trainings before the portfolios are set up – not surprisingly, there are a lot of details to be addressed (e.g., sections have to have very specific names) – so these trainings can’t be skipped.



  *   Second, please ask all of your faculty to log in to Faculty Portfolio (www.facultyportfolio.arizona.edu<http://www.facultyportfolio.arizona.edu>) to ensure that they can access the system. They don’t need to enter anything yet – the 2023 reporting has not been set up yet. But – if the faculty member does NOT have access, it’s an easy fix so let’s take care of it now instead of in late January.  😊
