Dear faculty:
Every year, we elect a new SPLS representative for the CALS Faculty Council. The current Chair of this council is Jeff Fehmi, Professor, School of Natural Resources and the Environment. The charter of the council and its current composition is found at https://compass.arizona.edu/sites/compass.arizona.edu/files/charter.pdf
As a School, we are entitled to elect two representatives: currently they are Zhongguo Xiong and Rebecca Mosher. Becky rotates off the Council at this point in time, hence my call for anyone that is interested in serving on this Council. I would like to thank Becky for her engaged service! I am sure she can convincingly articulate to you the importance of this committee in voicing faculty concerns to the higher administration. I have served previously, and recognize the critical role of this committee in providing faculty input. If you are invested in the concept of faculty governance, this is an important conduit for your beliefs and those of your colleagues.
Anyone interested in serving, please contact me and Becky, and we can willingly provide more information.
Thanks and best wishes!
David
