[Plsfaculty] Survey coming to vote on Hillary Mehl Application for University Faculty Associate-DCC appointment

Hi All,

At David Galbraith’s request, I will be sending out a Qualtrics survey for us to vote on whether to approve the appointment of Dr. Hillary Mehl as a University Faculty Associate- DCC, which was discussed in our last faculty meeting.

Per the SPLS courtesy appointment guidelines, The SPLS Academic Personnel Policies Committee (APPC) met on November 15, 2023 to consider the application of Dr. Hillary Mehl, Lead Scientist for the USDA Aflatoxin Biocontrol Lab in Tucson for appointment as a Faculty Associate-DCC in SPLS. The committee approved her application in a 5-0 vote, based on the submission of her CV, letter of interest and her seminar presentation in the SPLS seminar series on October 18, 2022.

I am attaching her CV for your information and if anyone would like to watch her seminar, I can send you the link.

Please keep your eyes out for the survey and vote as soon as you can. Per SPLS APPC guidelines 51% of voting-eligible faculty must approve the recommendation for it to pass.
