Hello All affected by Furlough or Furlough-Based Salary Programs,
As mentioned by the email from President Robbins below, the Furlough programs end date has been shortened to February 21, 2021. As a result, the amount of Furlough days or Paid Flex days will be decreased, YAY!
For accurate amounts of Furlough/Paid Flex days, ALVSCE Data Solutions team has come up with a calculator:
https://compass.arizona.edu/report/administration/alvsce-furlough-lookup.
All you need to do is log in using WebAuth, then enter your NetID or EmpID and click Enter. This will then show you which program you are in, number of hours you need to take, and also gives a recommendation of how many hours to take each pay period. Please use this tool instead of the Pay Reduction Tracking/Furlough Tile on UAccess Employee. Supervisors may also look up their employees using this tool.
Dates to Remember:
* Those on Academic Calendar or 9/12 Pay Program must use up all Paid Flex Hours or submit Furlough hours by May 23, 2021
* Those on Fiscal Calendar must use up all Paid Flex Hours or submit Furlough hours by June 30, 2021
Furlough Program only (not pay reduction)- What If:
* I am not able to take my furlough days by June 30th (fiscal) or May 23rd (Academic/9/12) end dates?
* As an employee in the furlough program, you are expected to take your unpaid furlough days. An employee who does not take their required furlough days before the program end dates (May 23, 2021, for academic employees and June 30, 2021, for fiscal employees), will have to pay back the time to the University. If you have not already done so, please work with your supervisor or unit leader to schedule and take your required furlough time before the program end dates. This will prevent the University from having to recover owed time from you.
* I’ve already taken more furlough days than is required with the adjustments? Will I be reimbursed for those additional furlough days?
* For those who were proactive in taking their furlough days, Human Resources is working with Payroll to determine a process for repayment. We will communicate that process as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to provide additional details regarding our Furlough and Furlough-based Salary Programs following my recent announcement. As promised<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=d4113c92608c883a5a8b9ecdb6bea91bfcba2c69832645c6300193ec6a916fde0621da2a3405a91d17217f73d253d5510a08820c462f21fb>, we have evaluated our financial performance following the census date, and, after consultation with shared governance groups, we are reducing your participation in these programs.
You may recall we yielded better-than-expected results<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=d4113c92608c883a2a2a26cbd6284a62417f71f62e2f91b92b293652b35ba6ca06134f1437311b9c0ff319226b3355d3f452236c0a19ed72> in net tuition revenue. This is thanks to the tremendous recruiting and retention efforts of Enrollment Management, Student Success and Retention Innovation, and our student support colleagues across our campus community – and in line with our Strategic Plan<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=d4113c92608c883a325a1714053c64e79f35c582857f21ce76fe9ca5a30dec7dd5110ccea145dbab56ead2ce881c2907ff3668f7997dac02>. While we continue to face ongoing financial challenges, we will be able to adjust the Furlough and Furlough-based Salary Programs, along with the corresponding impacts to fiscal year 2021 budgets. Deans and Vice Presidents soon will receive their revised Responsibility Centered Management (RCM) budget allocations, allowing them to balance their budgets as they see fit to meet the long-term needs of each college and support unit.
