[Plsfaculty] New Hiring timeline

Hello All Hiring Supervisors,

The new Talent system is active replacing UA Careers today, as well as the new University Staff positions resulting from UCAP. I wanted to give you a timeline on how long hiring a new employee will be, since it is a more lengthy process than UA Careers. Give at least 15 business days until hiring can occur, additional time may be needed depending on the approval process:

  1.  PCN: all positions for University Staff will need a new position number created and approved by Human Resources before posting to Talent = 3 business days for approval.
  2.  Posting in Talent: All postings are put into the new Talent system by the department, reviewed by Compensation Team of Human Resources, then reviewed by Recruitment Team of Human Resources. Once all approved, would then be posted = 3 business days for this process.
     *   If you are posting a position and the wage is higher than the Median Pay Range, than an additional review needs to take place and approved. This delay I do not have a set time for, would depend on the reason given for the excess pay and the review by Compensation Team of HR.
  3.  Talent posting open: All postings need to be open for 7 days before hiring can begin.
  4.  Offer Letter Review: all offer letters are now generated through the Talent system and reviewed by Human Resources = 3 business days for approval.
     *   Once the Offer Letter is approved by HR, then the letter can be sent to the candidate. This will all be done through the Talent system.
     *   No supervisor signature is needed on Offer Letters done through Talent.

All University Staff, Post Doc, and Faculty recruitment go through Talent. Please plan accordingly when hiring a new member of your team. If there are any questions, please let us know.
