Dear Plant Sciences Faculty:

Please let me know if you plan to submit a proposal to the Arizona Specialty Crop Block Grant Program due March 27th.

I will need to route the following documents no later than March 18th:


  *   application cover sheet (please see attached, I have pre-filled parts of the form for you)
  *   a statement of work
  *   budget
  *   budget justification

The cover sheet requires a signature from sponsored projects and I must have the signature in place by March 25th to meet sponsored projects deadline.

I have attached the project profile template along with the solicitation.

Please note: I will be out of the office March 27 – April 1, so please let me know as soon as possible if you intend to submit an application to this call.

AZ Specialty Crop Block Grant Program

The 2019 AZ Specialty Crop Block Grant Program grant manual is now available and applications are now being accepted. To view the manual, please go to: https://agriculture.az.gov/grants.

This year’s grant application deadline is 11:59:59 P.M. (MST) Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Application Packets are required to be submitted on-line. See instructions at the website above and Appendix G of the manual. It is highly recommended that you review the instructions as soon as possible to become familiar with the on-line application process.

There will be two webinar workshops held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. See page 14 of the manual or the website above for more details.

The purpose of this program is to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in Arizona.

The Arizona Department of Agriculture anticipates that these grant monies will be available to successful applicants by late 2019. Although USDA-AMS has not officially released SCBGP funds to the states, AZDA projects that approximately $1,250,000 will eventually be available to be distributed in the fiscal year 2019 funding cycle.
