Call for 2012 Student Showcase Judges
*********************************************
Would you like to learn more about what students on the University of
Arizona campus are working on and researching?
If you would, then read on.
The Graduate and Professional Student Council invite you to be a judge for
the 20th Annual Student Showcase, which will take place during the
Homecoming weekend, on Friday, November 9th at the Alumni Plaza.
This year, judges will need to be available from about 8:30am until 11:30am
on Friday, November 9th. A judge's orientation will begin around 8:30am and
breakfast will be provided starting at 8:00am. The judges will then move
with their panel to the Showcase tents to begin judging projects. Each panel
will judge between 6 to 12 projects, depending on the category they are
judging. Judging panels are usually composed of graduate students, faculty,
staff, and Tucson community members.
Student Showcase is an important part of the University's Homecoming
weekend. It is an outdoor exhibition comprised of undergraduate and graduate
student projects from every area of study at the U of A.
What makes this event unique is the variety and creativity of the projects
that are displayed under the same tent. It is also one of the largest
student-run research exhibitions in the United States.
Your support for Student Showcase and the students of the University of
Arizona is much appreciated.
Arrangements will be made for FREE parking for the off-campus judges.
The judging categories are as follows:
. Agriculture and Environmental Sciences
. Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture
. Biological Sciences
. Business, Public Administration, and Economics
. Education
. Engineering
. Health Sciences
. Humanities, Literature, and Languages
. Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science
