[Plsfaculty] Request contents for Featured Faculty and Featured Stories for the SPLS homepage

Dear Colleagues,

 

On behalf of the IT/Web committee, I am writing to request your assistance
in updating the contents of the "Featured Faculty" column and the featured
stories at the bottom of the SPLS homepage.

 

The committee has decided to feature every faculty member in our school.
Please provide a short paragraph about yourself and the highlights of your
research, teaching, and extension activities in 700 to 720 characters
including spaces. You will also need to provide a high quality picture of
yourself. The picture can be one of the following formats: png, gif, and
jpg, and must be exactly 150 by 150 pixels. Please see the current featured
faculty items for examples. 

 

Stories featured on the SPLS homepage may include recent awards,
departmental sponsored events, recently awarded grants, and recently
publications. The committee will prioritize the rotation of the new stories
and change them at least monthly. If you are interested in submitting a
story for the committee to consider, please send any committee members your
write-up of the story along with a high quality image relevant to the story.
There is no restriction on the length of the story, but please make sure
that the first paragraph (about 350 characters including spaces) of your
article contains the essence of your story. You may expand and elaborate the
story in subsequent paragraphs. For the image to be properly displayed, it
must be between 440x220 and 880x440 pixels in size in any of the png, gif,
and jpg formats.
