Hi Brian,

 

Graduate students nominated Karen Schumaker for the Graduate Teaching and
Mentoring Award...and she got it!!!!!  Andrew Comrie will send her a
congratulatory letter but I like to tell the head of the department first so
that s/he is able to give the news to the award winner in person.  The award
carries a $2500 check, a medallion and a handsome plaque.  The winners' (2)
also have their picture displayed in the Graduate College Hall of Fame.

 

Please do the honors and let her know.  I am very happy for her.  A great
recognition to a great lady with a long career of mentoring and teaching in
addition to research.
