FYI

Dear Colleagues, Students, and Friends:

Our group at The University of Arizona is quickly expanding and we have need
for additional Post-Doctoral Research Associates and Graduate Students in my
research group. Attached you will find two advertisements for the Post-Doc
positions. While I am open to any outstanding candidates, my primary needs
lie leadership positions in analytical chemistry, water treatment, and
molecular/cellular biology. One position seeks candidates with exemplary
analytical skills to oversee approximately $2M of new analytical equipment
that will be installed at the BIO5 Institute (BIO5.org). The other
post-doctoral position will lead our efforts on in vitro and in vivo
bioassays with a focus on biomarkers of environmental exposures and the
tracking of bioactivity in recycled and impaired waters. These candidates
will have immediate access to state of the art facilities and equipment
including LC-triple quadrupole-Time of Flight (QQQ-TOF) mass spectrometry,
LC quadrupole TOF, GC-triple quadrupole MS, GC and LC - ICP/MS, and a host
of other new instrumentation currently under acquisition. For biological
based research, our new position at the BIO5 Institute provides access to
cutting edge genomics and proteomics facilities and equipment, including
TOF-TOF MS, Orbitrap MS, DNA sequencing and synthesis, cell/tissue culture,
and protein characterization. The successful candidate will also have the
opportunity to work in joint facilities including Biosphere, the Water
Village, and other off-campus facilities where water treatment technologies
are employed and developed.

I also seek highly motivated MS and PhD students who are interesting in
pursuing graduate degrees in Environmental Engineering, while gaining a
diverse background in chemistry, toxicology, and public policy.

Please feel free to forward this call to any appropriate candidates or
parties.

Best Regards,
Shane Snyder
