Hello All,
Please let me know if anyone in your labs (including you) work in the
restricted animal areas on campus. We have two people in the School who do
have access and the appropriate documentation to enter these areas. Those
names will be given to the UAPD.
Please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Donna-Rae

Subject: Update of employees with access to animal areas
UAPD has asked for an update for UA employees with access to animal areas.
Attached you will find the most recent list of personnel in your department
who are currently listed as working with animals. We have provided you with
their current certification number(s) as of June 2010.
Those persons without a certification number are not authorized for entrance
to animal facilities and may jeopardize their investigators' protocols.
They should be notified that this is the case and encouraged to complete the
required training. Online modules have been developed for the certification
classes and are available on our website at
http://www.iacuc.arizona.edu/training in order to accommodate busy
schedules.
We request that you verify that these persons are still in your department
and working with animals. (Some of these people may be students or summer
volunteers and some may have left the UA some time ago.) Please provide a
work/lab phone number for each to be used in case of an emergency. We
require a student/employee numbers so that we can assure easy tracking of
their certification. We request that you add anyone else who may have
started with your department since your last update along with their
necessary information. Please note if anyone will be leaving in the next
few months: i.e., retiring, etc
Any additions or corrections should have been made on these sheets and
returned to fax number 621-8833 so that we can update UAPD on our emergency
plans by the end of the month.
For any questions e-mail garanda at u.arizona.edu or leave a message at
621-3931.
