Hi Plant Science faculty -
Not only is the Pay/timesheet system changing --- so is all the
course/registration/rules/advising system.
I recently have learned about some new rules that may affect YOU and the
students in your classes.
1. Starting this next Spring, no student may enroll for a course more
than 2 times. A "WP" (Withdraw passing) counts as one enrollment. An
example of this might be - a student Withdraws from your class (you agree he
is passing), then the student takes it again but fails. That student is out
of options. For difficult requirements for the PL S major, this might be a
problem. UNLESS you and the student's Advisor (not always me) and the
student lift the restriction. THUS - it is important for you to caution any
student who Withdraws.
2. You will soon need to help us evaluate all your course Pre
Requisites, since the new enrollment system will PREVENT any student who has
not had them from registering. An example - you want them to take a course
whose number has changed, and they took that course under the old number,
but the system does not catch it. They are not able to be in your class.
Please look at your courses. Rachael Mattull will be contacting you.
Thanks. We will be in touch about these things as time goes on. There will
be more.
