Again, I was very pleased by the enthusiasm which all of you displayed in
filling our committees. Unfortunately, Curriculum is left without
representation from plant pathology and plant biology. As those of you who
attended David Rhoad's seminar, an ongoing grant mandates that he teach in
Phoenix twice a week and the scheduling has not worked out so that he can
attend. Rather than me trying to guess who might have time, can you let me
know if you are interested enough in curriculum to volunteer for this
committee. Several things that will be dealt with this year:
Out catalog is filled with courses that are no longer taught - they will be
taken off the books
A number of courses have the wrong prerequisites and students will soon no
longer be allowed to register if they don't have them, so these are going to
be fixed
We need to develop some common graduate courses across campus for
microbiology/plant pathology as it will require at least 5 graduate students
in each class
With the departures that we have had, we need to adjust the graduate course
requirements for graduate students.
Please let me know if you can participate.
