For your interest

LAST EEB MONDAY SEMINAR OF THE SEMESTER: Monday, Dec 7th, 4pm, BSW301,
Professor Mark Young from Montana State University will be joining us for
Departmental Seminar, "Archaeal viruses in the wild". Dr. Young explores the
ecology and evolution of viruses that infect archaea, as well as the
engineering and nano-technology required to use viral capsids as drug
delivery capsules. He's a fascinating scientist, and who really knows
anything about the third domain of life (Archaea) anyway? These cells are
wacky and weird (survive temperatures >80'C, and pH<3.0), and important in
the wild, and their viruses simply follow suit.
