[Plsfaculty] UA New Individual Conflict of Interest information.

Hello All,

 

On 07.01.09 the University of Arizona adopted a new Individual Conflict of
Interest and Conflict of Commitment policy for all UA faculty as well as
employees who apply for grants.  On 09.01.09, a new Proposal Routing Sheet
will be issued which has a provision to ensure that each faculty member (or
grant applicant) has completed the necessary forms for this policy.   If the
forms are not completed - the grant cannot be routed.

 

Most of the forms appear to be annual declarations or when the consultation
occurs, but there is one form that appears to be completed each and every
time a proposal is submitted.  I have attached that form for your review.
Please work with me and my staff when routing a grant to include this form
as it needs your signature.

Conflict of Interest


⇒NEW COI POLICY: 

Effective July 1, 2009, the University adopted a new Individual Conflict of
Interest and Conflict of Commitment Policy. 


The University of Arizona is dedicated to upholding the principles of free
and unbiased inquiry, the transfer of ideas and technologies for the benefit
of the public, and stewardship of the resources entrusted to it.  The
University also recognizes that its faculty and employees engage in
increasingly complex relationships with private entities and with state and
federal governments.  It is essential, however, that financial and other
relationships with outside entities do not create situations that are, or
appear to be, in conflict with the values of free and unbiased inquiry. 

 

The University of Arizona Individual Conflict of Interest and Conflict of
Commitment Policy describes processes and procedures for reporting financial
and other interests in outside entities to the University. This website
contains information regarding the policies, laws, regulations, processes,
and procedures that govern conflict of interest.
