[Plsfaculty] Senior Capstone course

Dear Colleagues:

 

For many years Rachel Pfister and I have co-taught the Senior Capstone
course, and you received this email from her.  Rachel, as you know has
retired, and this year I am co-teaching the course with Libby Davison (at
least until she retires).  Just to reiterate what you heard from Rachel, the
class is for graduating seniors, and we try to synthesize what they have
learned and talk about opportunities and current research in all aspects the
Plant Sciences.  As part of the course the students write three major
research papers and then present their findings to their peers, but we also
ask faculty members to talk about their careers and their research areas
with particular emphasis on the important questions being addressed today in
those areas.  

 

We would really like to have you come and talk to our students this fall.
The class meets on Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon in Forbes 229.   The
available dates are: 9/4, 9/11, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 11/13, 11/20 and 12/4. 

 

If you are willing to come, please choose the date that best suits you and
let me know as soon as possible.  I look forward to hearing from you.
