[Plantsci] A New Manager of Finance and Administration in SPLS!

Hi Everyone,

Great news!  Alicia Roberson has accepted our offer to join SPLS as its new Manager of Finance and Administration!   She comes to us from a similar position in Campus Recreation at UArizona, and she will start with SPLS on Tuesday August 9, 2022.  We had some excellent applicants, and Alicia comes to us with significant and high-level experience.  I want to thank the search committee for such excellent work on this! … including the search committee Chair Samantha Sowerby, and members Amanda Armendariz, Shelley McMahon, Ravi Palanivelu, and Kimberly Ramey.  Lizeth Enriquez was also a big help!

As a special note, you have already heard that David Jacobson will be advancing very soon to a similar leadership position on campus in Department of Urology.  Congrats David!  You’ll be missed.

And so, now you may notice, we will be short-handed on our office leadership and support staff for the next few weeks or so.  CALS Central Admin will supply some back up, but this will have its limits.  It is also likely that Alicia will need some time to come up to speed on the operations of our quite complicated unit after she begins.  With that in mind, please be as patient and supportive as you can be as we progress through this major transition in SPLS office leadership and staff.  😊
