[Plantsci] Friday, October 22nd: Alternate Schedule ALL Employees

Hello All Employees,
The University of Arizona Communications team just sent out an email<d813613b5492b6bc7a19d2d63f2bde6344612ecc29022e873bc8d7789c467595ed1b3047ed6ebd73f06bb0ec6220006bca97ae598b72ab303916bf902ff289707860030eee73df07117728f984f53d2f> regarding the home football game for Friday, October 22nd. In order to free up parking and traffic on campus, ALL Employees are asked to either Work From Home or Leave the Campus at 12pm.

For the first time, the University has set aside 4 paid hours of University Release time to accommodate leaving early. What does this mean:

  1.  All Student, GA’s, Postdocs, Staff and Faculty are able to use 4 hours of University Release time on Friday, October 22nd only.
     *   On your timesheet you will use the following codes, these will be active Oct. 18-Nov. 14:

                                                               i.      RLE – Exempt (salary-faculty, postdocs, staff)

                                                             ii.      RLP – Nonexempt (hourly- staff)

                                                           iii.      RLS – Student Workers

                                                             iv.      RLG – Graduate Assistants/Associates (who enter a timesheet for their position)

  1.  If you are able to work at home, employees may end work at 12pm and use University release time for the rest of the workday (4 hours maximum)
  2.  If working from home is not possible, employees may leave work at 12pm and use University Release time for the rest of the workday (4 hours maximum)
  3.  Afternoon classes on Tucson main campus will not be canceled, but faculty members may opt to adjust their class schedules or course content.
  4.  The 4 hours of University Release does apply to All Employees, not only those on the Main Campus.
     *   Though if not on Main Campus, you do not need to worry as much about working from home to free up parking😊.
     *   I called UA-Human Resources to verify this.

Employees:
Please work with your supervisor on your schedule for the week of October 18th to accommodate the request for Friday, October 22nd.

Supervisors:
Please arrange for as many employees and students as possible to work from home Friday, Oct. 22, while ensuring that the work of the University proceeds. When approving time sheets, please verify the time reporting codes are accurate before the pay period closes. The codes are listed above for each type of position.
