The first SNRE seminar for the Spring 2021 semester will be tomorrow, Wed January 13th!
TITLE: Shił Gozhǫ́ǫ́: Apache Knowledge, Sickness, and Health
Speaker: Seth Pilsk, Ethnobotanist, San Carlos Tribe & Twila Cassadore
Date: Wednesday, Jan 13
Time: 3:00-4:00 pm

BIO: Seth serves as a botanist for the San Carlos Apache Tribe’s Forestry Department. For the past 30 years he has worked directly with elders from each of the Western Apache tribes on a number of cultural preservation projects, including repatriation and the collection of traditional information regarding the Apache relationship with the natural world.
Twila Cassadore is San Carlos Apache Tribal member. For the past several years she has been focused on the Traditional Western Apache Diet Project and other cultural preservation projects, and is a caterer and food vendor. She is the founder of “Native Mothers Against Meth.”
