Good morning everyone-
The School of Plant Sciences has created a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and has submitted this plan to UAPD as part of a campus mitigation effort. The COOP ensures we have an effective communication plan in place to reach all individuals in the unit, communicate next steps in the event of an emergency, conduct accurate headcounts if needed, and resume essential functions of unit operations with minimal interruption. In short, any incident that makes it impossible for employees to work or learn in their regular facility could result in the activation of the COOP.
Please ensure you are familiar with these main points of the COOP:
1. Your work area will have an updated Call Tree updated by your supervisor/PI. When a COOP needs to be implemented, your supervisor or designated employee will contact the Call Tree.
* It is your responsibility to ensure your Supervisor/PI has your most up-to-date contact number
* Also update your emergency contact information in UAccess Employee/UAccess Student annually to ensure accuracy
2. Assembly Locations for ALL Employees, DCC's and Visitors: When you hear the fire alarm, please go to the following-
* Forbes: In front of Old Main by the Fountain
* Marley: Cross 4th St. and meet across from Marley
* For other locations please ensure your supervisor/PI contact the Building Manager or Facilities Manager for the proper Assembly Location for your area
3. Recommended to also sign up for UAlerts for University COOP procedures: https://cirt.arizona.edu/ualert

The University of Arizona sits on the original homelands of Indigenous peoples who have stewarded this land since time immemorial. Aligning with the university's core value of a diverse and inclusive community, it is an institutional responsibility to recognize and acknowledge the people, culture, and history that make up the Wildcat community. At the institutional level, it is important to be proactive in broadening awareness throughout campus to ensure our students feel represented and valued.
