[Plantsci] MAC OS UPDATE

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Apple announced today (November 10, 2020) that macOS 11 Big Sur will be released on Thursday, November 12, 2020.  Please do not upgrade any CALS/CES/AES-owned Macs to Big Sur at this time.  Three main issues we are aware of are:

- Sophos will break under Big Sur

- Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client will break under Big Sur

- Camera/microphone permissions will be locked behind Admin credentials in Big Sur

Other bugs are sure to be discovered in the coming weeks.  Sophos and Cisco are updating their software to work with Big Sur, but we do not have an ETA on those.
